Day 119: Shampoo and No Water

In their apartment, Kim (A) sees her roommate Zia (B) come out of the bathroom in a towel, her hair still full of shampoo.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

O, bakit ka nakatapis diyan? May shampoo pa 'yung buhok mo.

Hey, why are you standing there in a towel? There's still shampoo in your hair.

  2. B

Nawalan ng tubig! Walang lumalabas sa gripo.

The water got cut off! Nothing's coming out of the tap.

  3. A

Ay, oo nga pala! Sabi ng landlady kahapon, walang tubig hanggang tanghali.

Oh, right! The landlady said yesterday there'd be no water until noon.

  4. B

Ngayon mo lang naalala? Sana sinabi mo kagabi!

You're only remembering now? You should have told me last night!

  5. A

Sorry na! Sinabi rin niyang mag-ipon tayo sa timba, pero nakalimutan ko.

I'm sorry! She also told us to store some in a pail, but I forgot.

  6. B

Hay naku. Akin na nga 'yung mineral water sa ref.

Oh, for goodness' sake. Just hand me the mineral water from the fridge.
