At the front desk of a small hotel in Osaka, with their bags at their feet, Gino (A) and his girlfriend Via (B) find out that Gino booked their room for the wrong month.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

Via, next month pala 'yung na-book ko. Sorry na.
Via, it turns out I booked next month. I'm sorry.
-
B
Ha? E saan tayo matutulog ngayong gabi, sa kalye?
What? So where are we sleeping tonight, on the street?
-
A
Ano kaya kung itanong natin kung may bakante pa sila ngayong gabi?
What if we ask whether they have a free room tonight?
-
B
Nagtanong na ako kanina, puno raw sila hanggang Linggo.
I already asked. They say they're full until Sunday.
-
A
Bakit hindi tayo maghanap ng capsule hotel? Mura lang daw 'yon.
Why don't we look for a capsule hotel? They're supposed to be cheap.
-
B
Tara na nga. Pero sa susunod, tingnan mo munang mabuti ang petsa, ha?
Fine, let's go. But next time, check the dates carefully first, okay?
