Day 77 of 215

Day 77: The Water Jug at Midnight

Just after midnight, Karen (B) climbs the stairs to find out what crashed in the unit above hers, where Patrick (A) lives with his roommate Ryle (C).

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Pasensiya na po, Ate Karen. Nahulog po kasi 'yung galon.

Sorry, Ate Karen. The water jug fell.

  2. B

Alas-dose na ng gabi! Paano nahulog 'yon?

It's midnight! How did that fall?

  3. C

Nadulas po sa kamay ko habang ikinakabit ko. Natapon po lahat.

It slipped out of my hands while I was putting it on. All of it spilled.

  4. B

Lahat? Diyos ko, baka nabasa na ang kisame ko!

All of it? Good Lord, my ceiling might be soaked already!

  5. A

Pinupunasan na po namin. Sasamahan ko po kayo pababa para matingnan natin.

We're already wiping it up. I'll go down with you so we can take a look.
