Day 103 of 185

Day 103: The Photos Are Gone

During their Sunday car wash in front of the house in Las Piñas, Allan (B) has noticed that his son Melvin (A) has deleted every photo with his girlfriend of three years from Facebook.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Pa, pakiabot po ng sabon. Ako na po sa mga gulong.

Dad, pass me the soap, please. I'll do the tires.

  2. B

Ang tahimik na ng cellphone mo gabi-gabi, a. Wala na yatang tumatawag.

Your phone's gone quiet at night lately. Looks like nobody calls anymore.

  3. A

Wala na po, Pa. Okay lang po ako.

    Not anymore, Dad. I'm fine.

  4. B

Wala na rin pala 'yung mga litrato sa Facebook mo. Pati 'yung sa Baguio.

The pictures on your Facebook are gone too, I see. Even the ones from Baguio.

  5. A

Tatlong taon po 'yon, Pa. Mas madali pong burahin sa Facebook kaysa sa isip.

That was three years, Dad. It's easier to delete from Facebook than from your head.

  6. B

Pagkatapos nito, mag-Tagaytay tayo, tayong dalawa. Ikaw ang magmaneho, ako ang sagot sa bulalo.

After this, let's drive up to Tagaytay, just the two of us. You drive, and the bulalo's on me.
