Day 110: Never Deploy on a Friday
At a small software company in Taguig, Rodel (B) wants to release the app's big update at six on a Friday evening, and his teammate Joshua (A) won't approve it.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

Dude, six o'clock on a Friday? You know the rule: no deploying on Fridays.
-
B
It already passed testing. Just approve it so we can go home.
-
A
Ikaw?
If it crashes on Saturday, who's going to fix it? You?
-
B
I won't be around on Saturday, my cousin's getting married in Batangas.
-
A
See? If there's a bug, I'm the one the boss will wake up at dawn.
-
B
Sorry, pare.
Sorry, dude. It's the client who set the deadline, they say it has to be today.

Here's what we'll do: we deploy it but keep it switched off for now. We'll turn it on Monday.
