Day 101: Snoring Runs in the Family

Old Domeng (A) admires his baby grandson with the boy's mother, his daughter Estela (B).

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

Kahawig ko ang apo ko, ano?

My grandson looks just like me, doesn't he?

  2. B

Opo, Pa. Pati po ang hilik!

    Yes, Dad. Even the snoring!

  3. A

Mana iyan sa ninuno natin. Humihilik ang buong angkan!

He gets it from our ancestors. The whole clan snores!

  4. B

Kaya po noong nagkita tayo sa reunion, walang nakatulog!

So that's why nobody got any sleep when we all got together at the reunion!
