Day 188 of 265

Day 188: A Tuesday Slot, Please

Oscar (A) reminds his mother, Lumen (B), about her follow-up check-up at the heart clinic, and Lumen, who hates waiting in line, has a couple of favors to ask.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Ma, sa Huwebes po ang follow-up ninyo.

Mom, your follow-up is on Thursday.

  2. B

Pakisuyo, anak, pakitawagan mo ang klinika. Kumuha ka ng slot sa Martes.

Do me a favor, son, and call the clinic. Get me a slot on Tuesday.

  3. A

Prayoridad naman po ang senior citizen.

    Senior citizens get priority anyway.

  4. B

Mas kaunti ang tao kapag Martes. Pakidala mo rin ang rekord ko.

There are fewer people on Tuesdays. And please bring my records too.

  5. A

    Nasa bag ko na po.

    They're already in my bag.
