Day 197: A Five-Thousand-Peso Phone Bill

Kristine (A) opens the mail at their apartment in Pasig and finds the postpaid phone bill of her husband, Darwin (B).

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Limang libo ang bill mo! Ano ito?

Your bill is five thousand pesos! What is this?

  2. B

Postpaid kasi ako, at lagi akong online.

It's because I'm on postpaid, and I'm always online.

  3. A

Alin ba ang mas mainam, postpaid o prepaid?

Which one is better, postpaid or prepaid?

  4. B

Sa parehong network, mas mura ang prepaid, pero limitado ang data.

On the same network, prepaid is cheaper, but the data is limited.

  5. A
