Day 251 of 265

Day 251: The Group Chat Votes Siargao

Sofia (A) and her friend (B), the organizers of their barkada's summer trip, count the group chat's votes: Siargao or La Union.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Tapos na ang botohan. Siargao ang gusto ng mayorya!

The voting's over. The majority wants Siargao!

  2. B

Sa tingin ko, mas mura sa La Union. Bentahe iyon!

I think La Union is cheaper. That's an advantage!

  3. A

Oo, mahal ang flight. Iyon lang ang disbentahe.

Yeah, the flights are expensive. That's the only disadvantage.

  4. B

E 'di ang konklusyon: mag-ipon na tayo.

So the conclusion is: we start saving.

  5. A

Tama! Simula bukas, bawal na ang milk tea.

Right! Starting tomorrow, no more milk tea.
