Day 83 of 265

Day 83: A Covered Court, Uncovered

Bernadette (A), Leo (B) and another longtime neighbor (C), who has just spoken with one of the barangay officials, talk about the new covered court planned for their barangay.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

Nakita na ba ninyo ang disenyo ng covered court?

Have you two seen the design for the covered court?

  2. B

Oo, kasinlaki raw ng court sa kabilang barangay!

Yeah. They say it'll be as big as the court in the next barangay!

  3. C

Pero sabi ng isang opisyal, pansahig lang ang pondo.

But one of the officials told me the money only covers the floor.

  4. A

    Covered court na walang bubong?

A covered court with no roof?

  5. B

E 'di magpayong na lang tayo!

    Then we'll just bring umbrellas!
