Day 91 of 265

Day 91: A Job for the Little Brother

At her birthday party, Carmela (A) gives jobs to her neighbors Michael (B) and his teenage brother Elijah (C), who have come early to help.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Ang aga ninyo, salamat! Heto ang toka ninyo.

You're early, thanks! Here are your jobs.

  2. B

    Ano ang toka ko?

    What's my job?

  3. C

Ate, gusto kang isayaw ni Kuya. Torpe lang siya!

Ate, Kuya wants to dance with you. He's just too shy to ask!

  4. B

    Huwag mo akong tuksuhin!

    Quit teasing me!

  5. A

Huwag kayong magtuksuhan. Elijah, kumbinsihin mo ang kuya mo!

No teasing, you two. Elijah, go talk your brother into it!
