How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

Nakawala si Kiwi habang nililinis ko 'yung hawla.
Kiwi got out while I was cleaning the cage.

Hindi po ba ninyo napansing bukas 'yung pinto?
Didn't you notice the door was open?
-
B
Hindi nga, e. Kung alam ko lang, sana sa loob ko na lang nilinis.
No, I didn't. If only I'd known, I would have just cleaned it inside.
-
C
Pa, ayun po si Kiwi, o, sa sampayan ni Aling Baby!
Dad, look, there's Kiwi, on Aling Baby's clothesline!
-

Huwag kayong maingay, baka lumipad ulit. Akin na 'yung hawla.
Keep quiet, or he'll fly off again. Hand me the cage.
