Day 163 of 215

Day 163: Viewers but No Buyers

In the condo they share in Pasig, an online seller (A) and her roommate and business partner (B) are live selling thrifted jackets on Facebook, and the number of viewers keeps climbing.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Lalong dumarami ang nanonood, pero wala pa ring nagmi-mine.

More and more people are watching, but still nobody's claiming anything.

  2. B

Ibaba na natin ang presyo. Gawin na nating tig-two hundred lahat.

Let's drop the prices. Let's make everything two hundred each.

  3. A

Ayoko! Lalo lang tayong malulugi, ang mahal ng kuha natin diyan.

No way! We'll just lose even more. We paid a lot for those.

  4. B

E 'di flash sale lang, limang minuto. Para lang may mag-mine.

Then just a flash sale, five minutes. Just so someone claims something.

  5. A

Hala, hindi pala tayo naka-mute! Basahin mo 'yung comments.

Oh no, we're not on mute! Read the comments.

  6. B

Sabi nila, "Away pa more!" Kaya pala lalong dumarami ang nanonood.

They're saying, "Fight some more!" So that's why more and more people are watching.
