Day 162 of 215

Day 162: Quiet Since Singapore

After weeks of silence in their group chat, Louise (A) finally gets her best friend Chelsea (B), who moved to Singapore for work last year, on a video call.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Mula noong lumipat ka sa Singapore, puro seen ka na lang sa GC.

Ever since you moved to Singapore, you just leave us on seen in the group chat.

  2. B

Sorry na. Pagod lang talaga ako sa trabaho.

I'm sorry. I've just been really tired from work.

  3. A

Pagod? E kanina pa kita nakikitang online.

Tired? But I've been seeing you online all day.

  4. B

Ang totoo, nalulungkot ako tuwing nakikita ko kayong magkakasama sa mga picture.

The truth is, I get sad every time I see pictures of you all together.

  5. A

Sana sinabi mo agad. Kahit malayo ka, kasama ka pa rin namin.

You should've told us right away. Even if you're far away, you're still one of us.

  6. B

Alam ko. Sige, magre-reply na ako, kahit sticker lang.

I know. Okay, I'll start replying, even if it's just a sticker.
