Day 166: Not From Our Store, Ma'am

At a bag brand's store in a mall in Pasay, Rosario (A) asks the young sales clerk, Lorenzo (B), to fix her bag's broken strap under warranty.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Iho, ipapaayos ko sana 'tong strap, may warranty pa.

Iho, I'd like to get this strap fixed. It's still under warranty.

  2. B

Patingin po. Pasensiya na po, Ma'am, hindi po amin 'to.

May I see? I'm sorry, ma'am, this isn't one of ours.

  3. A

Sa official store mismo ko 'to binili! May resibo pa nga ako.

I bought it from the official store itself! I even have a receipt.

  4. B

Hindi po talaga sa amin 'yan. Mali po ang spelling ng logo.

It really didn't come from us. The logo is misspelled.

  5. A

Pero may "official store" sa pangalan ng shop!

But the shop's name has "official store" in it!

  6. B

Kahit sino po, puwedeng magsulat niyan. Aayusin pa rin po namin, may bayad lang.

Anyone can write that. We'll still fix it for you, there's just a fee.
