Day 183 of 215

Day 183: Chicken Feet Instead of Wings

From her office, a woman (A) calls her husband, Alberto (B), about the week's groceries she ordered through an app, which a rider is about to deliver to their house.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Hon, malapit na raw 'yung rider. Pagdating niya, i-check mo lahat, ha?

Hon, the rider's almost there. When he gets there, check everything, okay?

  2. B

Nandito na siya. Kaso may mga pinalitan daw ang shopper.

He's here. But it says the shopper replaced some things.

  3. A

Ano'ng pinalitan? Habang binubuksan mo, i-video mo.

Replaced what? Take a video while you open the bags.

  4. B

Ibang brand lang 'yung toyo. Pero 'yung chicken wings, naging paa ng manok!

The soy sauce is just a different brand. But the chicken wings turned into chicken feet!

  5. A

Ano? Pang-adobo ko pa naman 'yon, huwag mong tanggapin!

What? Those were for my adobo, don't accept them!

  6. B

Wala na, nakaalis na ang rider. Adobong paa na lang tayo mamaya.

Too late, the rider's gone. Looks like it's adobong paa tonight.
