Day 211 of 215

Day 211: The Drone Dies Before the Kiss

At a beach wedding in Batangas, videographers Angelo (A) and Jace (B) find their drone's battery nearly dead just minutes before the couple's first kiss.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Jace, bakit nagbi-beep 'yung drone? Malapit na 'yung kiss!

Jace, why is the drone beeping? The kiss is coming up!

  2. B

Lowbat na, pare. Ang bilis naubos dahil sa lakas ng hangin.

The battery's low, man. It drained so fast because of the strong wind.

  3. A

Kaya nga sabi ko, dalhin mo na rito ang extra! Nasaan na?

That's exactly why I told you to bring the spare over here! Where is it?

  4. B

Nasa kotse pa, mga limang minutong lakad.

Still in the car, about a five-minute walk.

  5. A

Wala na tayong limang minuto! Takbo na, ako muna sa camera.

We don't have five minutes! Run, I'll cover it with the camera for now.

  6. B

Sige! Pero 'pag na-miss natin ang kiss, lagot tayo sa bride.

Okay! But if we miss the kiss, we're in big trouble with the bride.
