Day 30 of 215

Day 30: Wind Chimes All Night

Lola Vising (A) goes next door to talk to her neighbor Analyn (B) about the big wind chimes hanging by Analyn's window.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Pasensiya na, Analyn. Makikiusap sana ako tungkol sa wind chimes mo.

Sorry to bother you, Analyn. I'd like to ask you a favor about your wind chimes.

  2. B

Ano po 'yon, Lola Vising? May problema po ba?

What is it, Lola Vising? Is something wrong?

  3. A

Tumutunog kasi buong magdamag, kaya hindi ako makatulog.

They ring all night long, so I can't sleep.

  4. B

Naku, pasensiya na po, hindi ko alam! Tatanggalin ko na po.

Oh no, I'm so sorry, I had no idea! I'll take them down now.

  5. A

Salamat, iha. Makakatulog na rin ako nang maayos.

Thank you, dear. I'll finally be able to sleep well.
