Day 29 of 215

Day 29: Burned While Cooking for a Date

At the triage desk of a clinic in Makati, nurse Trisha (A) asks Dave (B), a patient about her age, about his burned hand.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

Sir, what happened to your hand?

  2. B

Napaso po ako sa kawali. Hinawakan ko po nang walang pot holder.

I burned myself on a pan. I grabbed it without a pot holder.

  3. A

    Nagmamadali po ba kayo?

    Were you in a hurry?

  4. B

May date po kasi ako. Nabitawan ko pa po 'yung ulam.

I have a date, you see. I even dropped the food.

  5. A

Sayang po. Puwede pa po kayong magpa-deliver.

That's a shame. You can still order delivery.
