Day 62 of 215

Day 62: The Drone in the Mango Tree

At their cousin's birthday party in the province, Justin (A) has to tell his older brother (B) what happened to the drone he borrowed to film it.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Kuya, sorry na. Nasabit sa puno ng mangga 'yung drone mo.

Kuya, I'm sorry. Your drone got stuck in the mango tree.

  2. B

    Ano? Paano nangyari 'yon?

    What? How did that happen?

  3. A

Nabangga sa sanga habang kinukunan ko 'yung birthday ni Pia.

It hit a branch while I was filming Pia's party.

  4. B

Sa kapitbahay pa 'yang puno. Aakyatin ko na lang.

And that tree's the neighbor's. I'll just climb up.

  5. A

'Wag na, Kuya, baka mahulog ka pa. Sungkitin na lang natin ng mahabang kawayan.

Don't, Kuya, you might fall. Let's just knock it down with a long bamboo pole.

  6. B

Sige, pero 'pag nasira 'yan, ikaw ang magbabayad.

Fine, but if it breaks, you're paying.
