Day 61: A Bangus Bone in the Throat
During lunch hour, Ramil (A) hurries into the clinic of Dr. Reggie (B) with a milkfish bone stuck in his throat.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

A
Doc, I've got a milkfish bone in my throat.
-
B
May ginawa na po ba kayo?
Have you done anything about it yet?
-
A
I swallowed a mouthful of rice.
-
B
You shouldn't swallow rice when there's a bone. It can get stuck even deeper.
-
A
Ha? 'Yon po kasi ang laging sabi ng nanay ko.
What? But that's what my mother always told me to do.
-
B
Next time, it's better to come straight here. All right, open wide.
