How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

A
Rafa, ayaw pa ring pumasok ng aparador sa pinto.
Rafa, the cabinet still won't go through the door.
-
B
Bigay pa naman ni Mama 'yan. Ipapatanggal ko na lang ang hamba.
And it's a gift from Mom, too. I'll just have the door frame taken out.
-
A
Huwag! Paupahan 'to, magagalit ang may-ari.
Don't! This is a rental, the owner will be furious.
-
B
E paano? Hindi natin puwedeng iwan 'yan sa labas.
Then what? We can't leave it outside.
-
A
Ipakalas na lang natin sa karpintero, tapos ipabuo ulit sa loob.
Let's have a carpenter take it apart, then put it back together inside.
-
B
Ang galing mo talaga! Pero huwag nating sabihin kay Mama, ha?
You're brilliant! But let's not tell Mom, okay?
