Day 88: Adobo for a Forgotten Monthsary

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

  1. A

Yssa, sorry na. Ipinagluto kita ng adobo para sa monthsary natin.

Yssa, I'm sorry. I cooked you adobo for our monthsary.

  2. B

Kahapon pa 'yon. Hindi mo man lang ako binati.

That was yesterday. You didn't even wish me a happy monthsary.

  3. C

Ano 'yang mabango? Patikim nga, Leandro.

What smells so good? Let me have a taste, Leandro.

  4. A

Heto po, Tita. Ako po ang nagluto niyan.

Here you go, Tita. I cooked it myself.

  5. C

Aba, ang sarap! Ipinagluto ka na nga, anak, ngumiti ka naman.

Wow, it's delicious! He cooked for you, honey, so give him a smile.

  6. B

Ma naman, kampi na po kayo sa kaniya? Akin na nga po 'yan.

Mom, you're on his side now? Give me that.
