How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

A
Mahal, aalis na ako. Nasaan na 'yung kapote ko?
Hon, I'm heading out. Where's my raincoat?
-
B
Nasa bag mo na, kasama ng dry bag para sa cellphone mo.
It's already in your bag, with the dry bag for your phone.
-
A
Sakto. Kapag ganitong umuulan, dagsa ang order.
Perfect. When it rains like this, the orders pour in.
-
B
Kung sakaling bumaha sa ruta mo, huwag mo nang ituloy. Kung sakali namang ma-lowbat ka, makitawag ka sa kahit anong tindahan.
If your route floods, don't push on. And if your phone dies, ask to use the phone at any store.
-
A
Yes, boss. May powerbank pa ako, fully charged.
Yes, boss. I've got a power bank too, fully charged.
-
B
Isa pa. Ipangako mong uuwi ka kapag hanggang tuhod na ang baha, kahit may order ka pa.
One more thing. Promise me you'll come home once the water's knee-deep, even if you still have an order.
-
A
Pangako. Basta may mainit na sabaw pagdating ko, ha?
I promise. As long as there's hot soup waiting when I get home, okay?
