Day 117 of 185

Day 117: The LPG Came Late Again

At her small panciteria in Plaridel, Bulacan, Lilia (B) gets her LPG tanks from Eddie (A), her supplier of ten years, at eleven in the morning instead of seven, for the third time this month.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Lilia, heto na ang tatlong tangke mo! Saan ko ilalagay?

Lilia, here are your three tanks! Where do you want them?

  2. B

Diyan na lang sa tabi ng kalan. Alas-onse na pala, ano?

Just there by the stove. Oh, it's eleven already, huh?

  3. A

Oo nga, ang bilis ng oras. Kumusta ang benta kaninang umaga?

Yeah, time flies. How were sales this morning?

  4. B

Ayos lang. 'Yung mga suki ko, sa kabila na lang nag-almusal.

Fine. My regulars ended up having breakfast across the street.

  5. A

Sayang, wala pa namang tatalo sa pansit mo.

What a shame, when nobody beats your pancit.

  6. B

'Yung bagong dealer sa may highway, alas-singko pa lang daw, naghahatid na. Dumaan nga siya rito kahapon.

That new dealer by the highway, I hear he's out delivering by five in the morning. He actually stopped by here yesterday.

  7. A

Aray ko. Bukas, alas-singko pa lang, nandito na ako.

Ouch. Tomorrow, I'll be here by five.
