Day 139: Live on Facebook for an Hour
Julie (A) phones her mother Puring (B) in Bulacan after relatives abroad message her that Puring has been live on Facebook for an hour.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

A
Ma, isang oras na raw po kayong naka-live sa Facebook, sabi ni Tita Gina!
Mom, Tita Gina says you've been live on Facebook for an hour!
-
B
Ha? Hinahanap ko lang naman ang salamin ko, a.
What? I was only looking for my glasses.
-
A
E paano po kayo napunta sa live?
So how did you end up going live?
-
B
May napindot yata ako, tapos biglang may mga pusong lumilipad, saka ang daming nagsusulat.
I must have pressed something, and then suddenly hearts were floating up, and lots of people started writing.
-
A
Ibig sabihin po ng mga puso, natutuwa sila sa pinapanood nila.
The hearts mean they're enjoying what they're watching.
-
B
E 'yung mga sulat? Iisa lang ang nakalagay: "Puring, nasa ulo mo!"
And the writing? It all said the same thing: "Puring, it's on your head!"
-
A
Ma, kapain po ninyo ang ulo ninyo. Nandiyan po ang salamin ninyo!
Mom, feel the top of your head. Your glasses are right there!
