Day 42 of 185

Day 42: Only Her Hand in the Photo

At a mall food court in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Bernadette (A) asks her boyfriend Chris (B) for a favor about the photos they take together.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Chris, huwag mo munang i-post ang picture natin. Hindi pa alam ni Papa.

Chris, don't post our picture for now. Dad doesn't know about us yet.

  2. B

Bakit naman? Akala ko ba proud ka sa atin?

Why not? I thought you were proud of us?

  3. A

Proud ako sa atin, pero mahirap na. Istrikto si Papa, alam mo naman.

I am proud of us, but better safe than sorry. You know how strict Dad is.

  4. B

Sige, kahit na gusto ko, hindi pa rin ako magpo-post.

Okay. Even though I'd love to, I still won't post anything.

  5. A

Salamat, babe. Bakit parang may tinatago ka, ha?

Thanks, babe. Why do you look like you're hiding something, huh?

  6. B

Kasi, may na-post na ako kaninang umaga. Pero kamay mo lang naman ang kita!

Well, I already posted one this morning. But only your hand shows!
