Day 41 of 185

Day 41: The Announcer's First Podcast

In his father's living room in Lucena, Quezon, Carding (A), a radio announcer, brings news about his AM station to Leoncio (B), who read the news on the same station for forty years.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

    Dad, our station's going online-only.

  2. B

So I heard. Forty years I was on AM, and it just ends like that.

  3. A

They want me to do a podcast now, but I don't know where to start.

  4. B

The equipment may be different now, but your voice is still your greatest asset.

  5. A

I hope so. But who's going to be my first guest?

  6. B

Me, of course. I still have plenty of stories that never made it on the air.
