Day 178: A Hundred Push-Ups a Day

After basketball practice at the covered court, a teenage player (A) points out the team's new trainer to his mother (B).

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

Mom, that's the trainer who's going to help us.

What did he say you need to work on?

  3. A

Kulang daw po ako sa disiplina. Isandaang push-up daw po araw-araw!

He says I lack discipline. A hundred push-ups every day!

  4. B

Sasabay ako, para sa bilbil ko!

I'm doing them with you, for my belly!
