Day 190 of 265

Day 190: The Misspelled Job Title

In their boarding house in Sampaloc, Jea (A) asks her friend and boardmate Jen (B) to look over her resume for a part-time encoder job at the city hall.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Jen, pakitingnan mo naman ang resume ko. Encoder ang posisyon.

Jen, could you look over my resume? It's for an encoder position.

  2. B

Mali ang spelling ng posisyon! "Encorder" ang nakasulat.

The job title's misspelled! It says "Encorder."

  3. A

Ha? Nag-print na ako ng sampung kopya!

What? I already printed ten copies!

  4. B

Ulitin mo na lang. Ilan kayong aplikante?

Just redo them. How many applicants are there?

  5. A

Limampu raw. Pakitingnan mo na rin ang ibang detalye!

Fifty, apparently. Please check the other details too!
