Day 199 of 265

Day 199: Saving His Voice for Saturday

Two days before he sings at a Saturday wedding, Gregorio (A), who has a sore throat, asks Kyle (B), a young pharmacy assistant, what to take.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Paos ho ako. Alin ho ang mabisa?

    I'm hoarse. Which one works?

  2. B

Itong spray po, at magmumog kayo ng maligamgam na tubig.

This spray, and gargle with lukewarm water.

  3. A

Ilang beses ho sa isang araw?

    How many times a day?

  4. B

Tatlo po, masama ang labis. Kapag nilagnat kayo, baka impeksiyon na po.

Three. Too much is bad for you. If you get a fever, it might be an infection.

  5. A

Huwag naman ho, kakanta ako sa kasal!

Oh no, please! I'm singing at a wedding!
