Day 200 of 265

Day 200: Two Dolls by Pure Luck

Back home after a Saturday at a theme park, where they spent the afternoon in the arcade, Aldwin (A) talks with his teenage brother Russel (B) about the day.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Pasensiya na, palpak ang lakad natin. Sira ang roller coaster.

Sorry, our day out was a flop. The roller coaster was broken.

  2. B

Okay lang, Kuya. Masaya naman sa arcade!

It's okay, Kuya. The arcade was fun!

  3. A

Tsamba lang ang manikang nakuha mo.

That doll you won was pure luck.

  4. B

Tsamba? Kung tsamba iyon, bakit dalawa ang nakuha ko?

Luck? If it was luck, how come I got two?

  5. A

Oo na. Kapag ayos na ang roller coaster, babalik tayo.

Okay, okay. When the roller coaster's fixed, we'll go back.
