Day 214 of 265

Day 214: Paradise Without a Signal

Back at the office on Monday, Ruben (A) can't stop talking about his weekend on the island of Calaguas to his coworker Sheila (B).

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Paraiso ang Calaguas! Ang pino ng buhangin, kumikinang ang dagat.

Calaguas is paradise! The sand is so fine, and the sea sparkles.

  2. B

E ang group chat? Hindi mo man lang sinagot!

And what about the group chat? You didn't even answer!

  3. A

Walang signal. Alon lang ang humahampas sa tapat ng kubo namin.

No signal. Just the waves crashing in front of our hut.

  4. B

Walang signal, walang boss? Ang payapa!

No signal, no boss? How peaceful!
