Day 220 of 265

Day 220: Muted, Then Too Loud

During their homeowners' association's online meeting, the treasurer, Romeo (A), gives his report while the secretary, Luz (B), runs the meeting.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Iyan ang ulat ko. May tanong ba kayo?

    That's my report. Any questions?

  2. B

Romeo, naka-mute ka! Ulitin mo, una ka sa agenda.

Romeo, you're on mute! Start over, you're first on the agenda.

  3. A

Pasensiya na, may teknikal na problema. Naririnig na ba ninyo ako?

Sorry, there's a technical problem. Can you all hear me now?

  4. B

Oo, pati ang videoke ng kapitbahay mo! Pakihinaan mo ang mikropono.

Yes, and your neighbor's videoke too! Please turn your mic down.

  5. A

    Sandali, isusuot ko ang headset.

Hang on, I'll put on my headset.
