Day 262: Studies First, Job Later
At home, a college scholar (A) who works evenings at a fast-food restaurant talks with his aunt, Tita Emily (B), whom he lives with.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

Kasi gabi-gabi kang kumakayod. Hindi mo kaya ang lahat!
That's because you work yourself to the bone every night. You can't do it all!

Pero kailangan ko po ang sahod, Tita.
But I need the paycheck, Tita.

Bitawan mo muna ang trabaho. Unahin mo ang akademikong scholarship mo.
Let go of the job for now. Put your academic scholarship first.

Sige po, pag-aaral muna, saka na ang trabaho.
