Day 47: Malakas and Maganda, Rough Cut

How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

A
So, Ramon, the sea at the start is beautiful, isn't it?
-
B
Puro ibon at dagat.
It's beautiful, but aren't the first ten minutes way too long? It's nothing but bird and sea.
-
A
Hindi ba't 'yon nga ang punto? Walang mapagpahingahan ang ibon.
Isn't that exactly the point? The bird has nowhere to rest.
-
B
Ramdam ko 'yon sa unang tatlong minuto. Pagdating ng ikasampu, nagse-cellphone na ako.
I felt that in the first three minutes. By the tenth, I was on my phone.
-
A
And what about kids who don't know the legend yet? They need to feel how tired the bird is.
-
B
What if they heard the voice inside the bamboo right away? It would stick with them more.
-
A
Here's an idea: we cut the bird down to five minutes, then go straight to the bamboo.
-
B
Fine by me. You tell Direk, though, since you're the one who animated the bird.
