Day 103 of 215

Day 103: He Slept Past Ayala Again

Over breakfast at home, Melba (A) talks with her son Martin (B), who is three weeks into his first job in Makati and takes the EDSA Carousel bus to work.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Martin, lumampas ka na naman sa Ayala?

Martin, did you miss your stop at Ayala again?

  2. B

Opo, Ma. Nagising na lang po ako sa PITX.

Yes, Mom. Next thing I knew, I was at PITX.

  3. A

Dapat mag-alarm ka sa cellphone bago ka pumikit.

You should set an alarm on your phone before you close your eyes.

  4. B

Nag-alarm po ako, Ma. Pinatay ko lang po nang hindi ko namamalayan.

I did set one, Mom. I just turned it off without realizing it.

  5. A

Mas mabuti kung matulog ka nang maaga. Walang cellphone sa kama.

It's better if you go to bed early. No phone in bed.
