Day 124 of 215

Day 124: Her Share of the Beach House

At home, Marissa (A) notices her daughter Dana (B) fuming over a friend who still hasn't paid her share of the beach house they rented in La Union last month.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

    O, bakit ka nakasimangot diyan?

    Hey, why the sour face?

  2. B

Si Camille po kasi, hindi pa rin nagbabayad ng share niya.

It's Camille. She still hasn't paid her share.

  3. A

Last month pa 'yon, a. Baka gipit lang.

That was last month. Maybe she's just short on cash.

  4. B

Gipit daw po, pero panay ang post ng bagong sapatos. Lalo po akong naiinis!

Short on cash, she says, but she keeps posting new shoes. It makes me even more annoyed!

  5. A

Huwag mo siyang singilin sa group chat, ha? Lalong lalala 'yan.

Don't call her out in the group chat, okay? It'll only get worse.

  6. B

Sige po, sa private message na lang. Pero na-screenshot ko na 'yung sapatos!

Okay, I'll just message her privately. But I've already screenshotted the shoes!
