Day 128 of 215

Day 128: The Projector Died Mid-Demo

After her first demonstration lesson as a student teacher at a public high school in Pasig, Ingrid (A) asks her cooperating teacher, Maribel (B), how it went.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Ma'am, kumusta po ang demo ko? Ang ingay po ng klase.

Ma'am, how did my demo go? The class was so noisy.

  2. B

Normal lang 'yan, lalo na pagkatapos ng recess.

    That's normal, especially after recess.

  3. A

Nakakahiya po, namatay pa ang projector sa gitna ng demo ko.

It was so embarrassing, the projector even died in the middle of my demo.

  4. B

Pero 'yung quiz game mo sa board, 'yon ang pinakamagandang parte!

But your quiz game on the board, that was the best part!

  5. A

Talaga po? Wala na po kasi akong ibang maisip.

Really? I just couldn't think of anything else.

  6. B

Nakakabilib nga 'yon. Nakinig pati 'yung mga pasaway sa likod!

That was actually impressive. Even the troublemakers in the back were listening!
