Day 194 of 215

Day 194: The Bag That Stayed in Cebu

At the baggage carousel at NAIA after a flight from Cebu, Cedric (A) is still waiting for the bag with his science fair project, a volcano model, when his older sister Lara (B) comes back from the airline counter.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Ate, wala nang lumalabas. Nasaan na 'yung project ko?

Ate, nothing's coming out anymore. Where's my project?

  2. B

Naiwan daw sa Cebu ang ilang bagahe, kasama 'yung sa 'yo.

They say some of the bags were left in Cebu, and yours is one of them.

  3. A

Bakit nila iniwan? Sa Lunes na ang science fair!

Why would they leave it behind? The science fair is on Monday!

  4. B

Sobrang bigat daw ng eroplano. Puno kasi, kaya nagbawas sila ng bagahe.

They said the plane was too heavy. It was full, so they took some bags off.

  5. A

Kaya pala ang tagal nating naghintay! E paano 'yung volcano ko?

So that's why we waited so long! What about my volcano?

  6. B

Ihahatid daw bukas sa bahay. Aabot pa, huwag kang mag-alala.

They said they'll deliver it to the house tomorrow. It'll still make it, don't worry.
