Day 196 of 215

Day 196: Three Legs and a Good Heart

At a weekend pet adoption drive in a mall in Pasig, Cholo (A), who came to adopt a puppy, finds that his girlfriend (B) has fallen for a three-legged adult aspin, a Filipino street dog.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Babe, tara na sa mga tuta. 'Yon ang usapan natin.

Babe, come on, let's go see the puppies. That's what we agreed on.

  2. B

Pero tingnan mo si Lucky, kanina pa nakatingin sa 'yo.

But look at Lucky, he's been staring at you this whole time.

  3. A

E tatlo lang ang paa niya. Paano ko siya isasama sa jogging?

But he only has three legs. How am I supposed to take him jogging?

  4. B

Hindi naman problema 'yan. Ang bilis nga niyang tumakbo, o!

That's not really a problem. He runs really fast, look!

  5. A

Tama ka, hindi naman paa ang mahalaga. Siguro siya na nga.

You're right, it's not the legs that matter. Maybe he's the one.

  6. B

Buti na lang, kasi napirmahan ko na 'yung adoption form kanina.

Good thing, because I already signed the adoption form earlier.
