Day 66 of 215

Day 66: Beep Card on the Tracks

On an MRT platform, Benjo (A) is putting away his beep card just as the train pulls in beside him and his girlfriend Rhian (B).

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Hala, Rhian! Nahulog sa riles 'yung beep card ko!

Oh no, Rhian! My beep card fell onto the tracks!

  2. B

Ha? Nandiyan na 'yung tren, o!

    What? The train's right here!

  3. A

Nadulas kasi sa kamay ko. Ipapakuha ko na lang sa guard.

It slipped out of my hand. I'll just have the guard get it.

  4. B

'Wag na 'wag mong gagawin 'yan! Mapapahinto mo ang buong MRT.

Don't you dare! You'll hold up the whole MRT.

  5. A

E paano ako lalabas mamaya? Wala na akong card.

Then how do I get out later? I don't have a card anymore.

  6. B

Ako na ang bahala. Sakay na, bago pa magsara ang pinto!

I'll take care of it. Get on before the doors close!
