Day 120: A Ticket for a Sold Car

At the traffic office of Quezon City Hall, Elvin Cruz (A) brings a parking violation notice for a car he sold a year ago to Emman (B), the young officer at the window.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Good morning. The car on this notice isn't mine anymore.

  2. B

Are you Mr. Cruz? In our records, the vehicle is still registered under your name.

  3. A

Opo.

Yes. But I already sold it last year.

  4. B

Kung gayon, hindi po nagpa-transfer ang bumili.

In that case, the buyer never had it transferred to his name.

  5. A

What do I need to do to clear my name?

  6. B

Could you please show me the deed of sale and the buyer's ID?

  7. A

Here's the deed of sale. As for the ID, I'll still have to get it from him.
