Day 132 of 185

Day 132: The Family's Free Driver

At a family birthday party in Cainta, Jess (A), the eldest of the cousins, tells Lester (B), the only one of them with a car, that the relatives have once again scheduled him to drive Lola to her check-up on Tuesday and an aunt to the airport at three on Friday.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Lester, they say you're taking Lola to her check-up again on Tuesday.

  2. B

Again? I've already missed work twice this month.

  3. A

Sorry. There's one more: Tita Nora, to the airport on Friday, at three.

  4. B

On top of that, I'm the one paying for gas. So let's take turns for once.

  5. A

You have a point. I'll talk to the aunts myself later.

  6. B

Salamat, Kuya. Basta si Lola, ako pa rin.

Thanks, Kuya. But I'm still taking Lola.
