How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Ma, totoo po bang sa studio ko titira si Liam?
Mom, is it true Liam's going to live in my studio?
-
B
Oo, nasabi ko na sa kaniya. Libre na, malapit pa sa eskuwela.
Yes, I already told him. It's free, and it's close to his school.

A
Isang kuwarto lang po 'yon, Ma. Saka alas-singko po ako gumigising.
It's just one room, Mom. And I wake up at five.
-

E 'di matulog din siya nang maaga.

A
Nagpupuyat po ang mga college student. Kaya naman po, mas mabuting mag-dorm na lang siya.
College students stay up late. That's why it'd be better for him to just get a dorm.

B
Magkapatid kayo. Noong nagre-review ka sa board exam, sino'ng nagdadala ng pagkain mo sa kuwarto?
You're brothers. When you were reviewing for your board exam, who brought food to your room?
-
A
Si Liam po. Sige po, pero siya ang maghuhugas ng pinggan, at bawal ang barkada niya.
Liam did. All right, but he does the dishes, and his friends can't come over.
