Day 62 of 185

Day 62: The Snoring Recording

Over breakfast in their condo in Mandaluyong, Michelle (A) tells her husband Henry (B) what she noticed while he was asleep last night.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Hon, tumigil na naman ang paghinga mo kagabi habang tulog ka.

Hon, you stopped breathing again last night while you were asleep.

  2. B

Ha? Okay naman ako, ang sarap nga ng tulog ko.

Huh? I'm fine, I slept great.

  3. A

Ilang segundo kang hindi humihinga. Magpatingin ka na, please.

You weren't breathing for several seconds. Please, go get checked.

  4. B

Humihilik lang ako, normal 'yon. Sayang lang ang pera sa doktor.

    I just snore, that's normal. A doctor's just a waste of money.

  5. A

Kahit na wala kang nararamdaman, delikado pa rin 'yan. Pakinggan mo 'tong ni-record ko kaninang alas-tres.

Even if you feel fine, it's still dangerous. Listen to what I recorded at three this morning.

  6. B

Ako ba talaga 'yan? Bakit biglang tumahimik tapos parang nalulunod ako?

Is that really me? Why does it suddenly go quiet, and then I sound like I'm drowning?

  7. A

'Yan mismo ang sinasabi ko. Naka-schedule ka na sa doktor sa Sabado.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. You're booked with the doctor on Saturday.
