Day 70 of 185

Day 70: Whose Slogan Was It?

After a client meeting at an advertising agency in Makati, Dave (A), who presented the new slogan, celebrates with his teammate Francine (B), the copywriter who wrote it.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Ang ganda ng meeting! Gustong-gusto ng client ang slogan.

Great meeting! The client loved the slogan.

  2. B

'Yung slogan ko, ibig mong sabihin? Inangkin mo sa harap nila.

My slogan, you mean? You passed it off as yours in front of them.

  3. A

Team effort naman 'yon. Ako lang ang nag-present.

It was a team effort. I just did the presenting.

  4. B

Team effort, pero ni minsan hindi mo binanggit ang pangalan ko.

A team effort, but not once did you mention my name.

  5. A

Sorry na, nadala lang ako. Babawi ako, promise.

I'm sorry, I got carried away. I'll make it up to you, promise.

  6. B

Simula ngayon, lalagyan ko na ng pangalan ko ang bawat slide, nang sa gayon ay malinaw kung kanino ang ideya.

From now on, I'm putting my name on every slide, so it's clear whose idea it is.
