How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

A
Danica, this is Sir Temyong. He still tastes every dish we cook here.
-
B
Walang foam dito, iha.
Didn't they teach you hotel cooking at school? There's no foam here, iha.
-
C
Didn't your father learn from other cooks too?
-
B
Iba 'yon.
From the cooks on Ongpin, yes, not at a school. That's different.
-
C
It is different. So what if you yourself taught me his recipes?
-
A
She has a point, Sir. You're the only one left who knows your father's seasonings.
-
B
Cook me a pancit canton right now, no recipe. I'll taste it.
-
C
Opo, Sir.
Yes, Sir. If I pass, you'll still taste every dish I make.
