Day 81 of 160

Day 81: Two Hundred Episodes to a Wedding

In the living room of Steph's family in Pandacan, Manila, Teddy (A) and his girlfriend Steph (B) watch the last episode of a teleserye they have followed for two hundred episodes.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Tagalog. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio for this lesson is coming soon. For now, read the dialogue and its translation.

  1. A

Sabi ko na nga ba! Dalawandaang episode, tapos kasal din sa simbahan.

I knew it! Two hundred episodes, and it still ends in a church wedding.

  2. B

So what? However long the procession, it always ends up at the church.

  3. A

And it literally ended at the church, huh? I thought there'd at least be a twist at the end.

  4. B

They went through so much: amnesia, an evil mother-in-law, babies switched at birth. We all knew they'd end up together.

  5. A

Iyon na nga, e. Unang linggo pa lang, nahulaan ko na.

That's just it. I'd guessed it by the first week.

  6. B

Then why didn't you miss a single night? You were even the one reminding me.

  7. A

Fine, I'll admit it. Your dad only lets me hang out here while the teleserye is on.

  8. B

Kaya pala ang lungkot mo! Relax, ang susunod daw, tatlong daang episode.

So that's why you look so sad! Relax, they say the next one runs three hundred episodes.
